The sitting room is very ample (appr. 7 x 8 meters, appr. 23 x 26 feet). As it occurs with all rooms, it has an ancient (but perfectly renovated) wooden beamed ceiling (of nut), and wooden durmast floors.

The sitting room is lavishly furnished, with two large sofas, a piano, chairs and small tables, a chest of drawers, a piano (not tuned, therefore it is not possible playing it). You also find a large bookcase, a fireplace, an old-fashioned mirror, paintings (the most notable ones are the contemporary ones, by an American architect-painter, Hayter).

This room is also equipped with large colour TV (37 inches) with satellite dish to watch CNN and the other English speaking channels, a stereo. Fine lamps and plants complete the decoration.

Sitting room, detail: the fireplace and the doors to the kitchen and to the dining room

There are many details worth seing in this large, elegant room. Probably the most important is the large, characteristic fireplace.

Also the furniture is antique, yet tasteful. In the right photo you can see the chest of drawers and the mirror.

The surrealist paintings match well with the more classical ones. Their author is the American architect / painter Hayter.

A final note is about the view from the window of the sitting room. You can see a secluded court (photo below), not open to the public. It allows you to have a clear idea of the "Roma sparita", the vanished Rome of the previous centuries, of which Romans and Rome connoisseurs are nostalgic. Not having a building close by also allows to have more space, quiet, and sheer light from the window. The same view can be seen from twin beds room.
